Filler & additives
Filler silos and additive dosing
Separate storage and feeding for new filler, reclaimed dust and mix additives such as fibres.
Filler comes from two places: imported mineral filler delivered by truck, and fine dust collected by the baghouse. They behave differently, so we keep them in separate silos and decide by recipe how much reclaimed dust goes back into the mix — the rest is discharged in a closed system.
For SMA and other special mixes, fibres or granular additives are weighed and blown into the mixer at a fixed point in the batch cycle.
How it works
- 01
Receiving
New filler is blown from bulk trucks into a sealed silo.
- 02
Collecting dust
Baghouse fines are stored in their own silo.
- 03
Conveying
Screw conveyors feed each type to the filler scale.
- 04
Dosing additives
Fibres or granules are weighed and conveyed to the mixer at their set time.
- 05
Surplus dust
Dust not used in the mix is unloaded through a closed chute.
Common configurations
Vertical filler silo
With top filter, safety valve and level sensors.
Reclaimed dust silo
Metered return to the mix plus a discharge outlet.
Fibre dosing unit
Weighing and pneumatic conveying of cellulose fibres.
Tell us before we quote
- Filler delivery (bulk truck or bags) and storage days needed
- Whether reclaimed dust may be used in your mixes
- Additive type and dose per batch
Check before ordering
- Silo top filter, pressure relief and bridge breaking
- Reclaimed dust never enters the mix without being weighed
- Different additives do not share one feeder by default
Questions
Can reclaimed baghouse dust go back into the mix?
Often yes, in a controlled amount, if your mix design and tests allow it. It is weighed separately from new filler; the surplus is discharged.
